We got to start the yankees out in the right direction first. Maybe "Diary of a Working Man" by Blackfoot or something.

GOOD MOUUURNIN'!!!!!!!!!!!
Blackfoot ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh, the redneck card has been dealt.
Well you know what, I remember my uncle being into
country music back when I was about 6 years old.
I used to ride in his muscle car, he would always have
some country music blasting from his 8 track stereo...
Waylon, Johnny, Hank stuff like that. The only band that
caught my attention was KISS & Zepp. That was my introduction to
rock music along with the "real" Elvis...
Living in what is still a primarily "rural" state, country music
is heard all over in these parts. It has become diluted &
cheap. Wait, just like rock music! Anyway, I just picked up Hank III
& I'm lovin' that as well....

Of course I am teasing anyone who lives up North with the "Yankee" stuff. At the same time, though people in "The South" are thought of as backwards, I see so many negative posts from metal-heads up there talking about other people giving them a hard time. I don't get that shit down here much at all.
I also appreciate the positive feedback on Blackfoot. They were one of a kind. They never reached the fame they deserved. I think they were too hard rock and heavy for many Southern Rock fans but had too much Southern Rock influence for people into the real heavy end of hard rock or metal.

Just curious Bryant I know Swine lives in Washington state. I live in Indiana.
How far south do you live in Bama by Moblile? Been there it's a really nice town.
Old country music and Southren rock rules. Speaking of Southren rock I
seen the COC is touring with Motorhead this spring. Ever listened to those
guys I know they started out as a punk-band called Corrosion Of Conformity
and then put out what I consider a masterpiece of a thrash/doom metal
album out in 1991 called Blind but they eventually changed thier sound to
a doomy stoner/southren rock sound on Deliverance and beyond. Just curious
I was jamming to some coc this past weekend! :headbang:

I actually live in Oregon & I just looked at the Dates & there is a Portland date!
I have to seriously consider going, Lemmy isn't gonna be around forever....

Anyone heard of an Al Jourgenson country side project called BUCK SATAN AND THE 666 SHOOTERS? A friend of mine claims he saw them live, and I've never found any evidence of their existence. Not a big Ministry/Al fan, but I'd be interested to hear how Buck sounds, (if it exists!)

It does in fact, exist. I haven't ever heard anything from them, but I know people that say it's out of this world....
I am curious & would like to hear it.
I guess, it's suppose to be like the Revolting Cocks Country Style....
Ask your buddy if he knows if they ever put anything out...
Or even like bootlegs?!

I am about in the middle of Bama as far as N/s but right on the East Edge. I live in Phenix City Alabama which is more or less a twin city shared with Columbus Georgia which is obviously on the far West edge of Georgia. Columbus shoud be fairly easy to find on a map. It is the second largest city in Georgia.
I have heard COC, but it has been years and years ago. Don't remember exactly which album it was, but I don't recall much of a Southern Rock style to it. It must have been some of their earlier work.

Well thier kind of now a combination of doom, southren and stoner rock definitley
Deliverance and up is worth a checking out if your into that kind of thing. I
used to not really give stoner rock much of a thought until I watched a couple of
Indlpls bands rock it out for example The Gates Of Slumber and Devil To Pay and
I am slowly starting to like this music. I saw High On Fire play with Clutch and Fu
Manchu a couple of months ago here and they owned that night and I have been
listening to Deliverance a lot more now and pretty soon I will pick up the new one,
Wiseblood and America's Volume Dealer I guess in 94 I wasn't ready for that direction
since I thought Blind was a shredding metal album! But as I grow older my tastes
change somewhat. But I still listen to some Black and Death metal and I am saddened
that the guy from Alabama's Blood Stained Dusk died in a car wreck they were a
crushing band. Man I wonder whatever happened to that brilliant bama metal
band Skeletal Earth? Can you help me out on that one.

KMADD speaks the truth!! Deliverance and Wiseblood are very much worth tracking down.... great albums!! AVD is ok but I didn't like it as much, however the live DVD that came out around the time of that album is fantastic.
