Jon Oliva's Pain sound clips

There's 4 sound clips from the upcoming Jon Oliva solo cd at jonoliva.net (about 1.30min each). And what do you know?
They sound awesome!
Ballsy production, real guitar riffs and of course the one and only Mountain King! Naturally it sounds a whole lot like Savatage but maybe a bit more straight-forward. I'm very positively surprised and can't wait for the whole album to come out.

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the whole solo thingie (mainly because it's postponing the new Savatage even further) but looks like the man just can't release a bad album. Well, maybe with the exception of Fight for the Rock.

I think it was originally called 'Tage Mahal' but he had to change it because there as some blues band called Taj Mahal or something like that. Anyway, the music's quite impressive.

hehehe I love Fight for the Rock ... as amatter of fact I love anything Criss ever played on ..... is it the best Sava did not by any means but its still way better then some Bands best work

NICE!!! Me likey! Like you said, Jon Oliva does indeed have the "midas touch" when it comes to making albums. It's impossible for him to make something crappy.

As soon as I heard them, I came shooting over here to post them. Glad to see someone beat me to it! I like them quite a bit and the album should be great. Now for a new TSO for Xmas and a new 'Tage album in the spring!!
