Judas Priest Debut New Guitarrist on American Idol

Well...I don't understand how people can accept Priest going on without KK...it's easy to play this game:heh:
To me (and probably many others) Glenn and KK were, are, and will always be, the heart and soul of Judas Priest.....without either one, it's just not the same. What's one of the first things you hear when someone describes Priest....? They were one of the first metal bands to use a guitar duo....Glenn and KK. Split them up, and the magic is gone.

Blah Blah Blah.

Bruce left Maiden - Maiden continued on and did just fine.

HALFORD left Priest - Priest continued on and did just fine.

Andre left Angra - Angra continued on and did just fine.

Barlow left Iced Earth, TWICE - Iced Earth is continuing on, and doing fine.

Kiske left Helloween - Helloween continued on and did just fine.

I could go on and on and on...

It's not like Priest is paying your bills bro. Move on. It's gonna be alright.

At the same time though, people need to open their minds and not pass judgement until after they've seen the guy perform. I saw that performance on AI and the new guy was very good. It's not THAT huge of a difference. He can play and has presence. Now in terms of the new album, that I have a little more issue with. However, I'm thinking the writing will pretty much be a Halford/Tipton thing. I don't want this new guy to be involved in the writing.

Hey "bro", I never said Priest wouldn't do fine without KK, and my world is not crushed by him leaving.....I simply expressed MY OPINION on the matter.

BTW- I would rethink your statement about Priest and Maiden doing just fine when Halford and Bruce left the bands.

My point wasn't that the albums were as good as the predecessors - in Maiden and Priest, that is clearly not the case... but I meant the band didn't end because of it. Priest was already "ending" before he announced his departure. The magic was ending anyways.

As a matter of fact, Priest's magic has ended a long time ago. ;)

And if you didn't like the "bro", I can always use "sis". ;)

Now go relax. We have a nice long weekend ahead of us.

KK left after they already announced their plans to retire. What do people want them to do? They aren't 'going on' without KK....they're finishing up what they've committed to and that's that. It's not like there's 15 more years of KK-less Priest to come.

I don't know about his Lauren Harris gig but he surely never played with Pretty Maids.
He did play on the DEEDS-Blown album from 2002 (which was the band DIRTY DEEDS who released 2 albums before, including the great first one in 1998, Danger Of Infection, that changed their name for that 3rd album).

I stand corrected. The link prior to the James Durbin one, listed Pretty Maids. I had to think about that one as well. I shouldn't have assumed the link was correct.

I know it wasn't the same when the twin guitar attack of Maiden was Adrian Smith"less".

Just not a fan of Janick's rather sloppy chops and horrible tone.
