Junior back in Megadeth!

While I like Lomenzo I couldn't really care less about him leaving the band. Simply because he's been replaced by the Megadeth bassist.

I don't think Mustaine would have Ellefson back in the band unless he really thought it could work. Personally I've never had a problem with Mustaine, and while I think there are a lot of people who genuinely dislike him, for whatever reason. I can't help but get the impression a lot of people in the metal community are just jumping on the bandwagon and dubbing him a 'douche' simply because it's the done thing. I think the band will work with Ellefson back in the line up, Megadeth are on a high right now. They've put out their strongest album in years, and not only that, now they have their strongest line up in years. I really fucking hope the Rust In Peace tour comes to the UK. Long live Megadeth.

I'm not dumping on Mustaine particularly (no more than usual anyway!), it's just that I've been a Megadeth fan for 23 years (yes I'm an old bastard!) and I've been through all the various ups and downs and feuds and line up changes, and I know my history. Same with Metallica, same with Slayer, same with Anthrax. And, much as I love all these bands and their music, that doesn't change the fact that Dave Mustaine, Lars Ulrich, Kerry King and Scott Ian are all giant arseholes - FACT!

Given the circumstances of Lomenzo's departure, and the big U.S. tour with Slayer and Testament just round the corner, followed by the "Big Four" shows in Europe, Megadeth need a bass player right away, and getting Ellefson in makes sense, the fans will be happy etc, but it's just a bit too convenient. What's to stop Mustaine looking for a new bass player after the summer tour when he has time to audition one properly. Just remember what happened with the Anthrax/Joey reunion, that lasted one tour, then they thought they could just pick up again with John Bush?

Please don't take offence to this, but I'll tell you why... because Megadeth are one of the biggest bands in metal history and dare I say it, believe it or not, as crazy as it may sound, there are actually still people in the world (including the members of your beloved Evile) who listen to Megadeth because they like the music, and couldn't give a flying fuck what Dave Mustaine is like as a person.

Here's an idea that you might want to try out sometime: Actually read people's posts before you talk bollocks, mmmkay? And might I add on top of that, that ETG was my avatar about... what, a year ago nearly? So yeah, you can take that to the fucking bank.

On the Megadeth topic, I'm just really annoyed at how predictable the 'band' has become nowadays. Though I'm chuffed at Ellefson's return I just knew that something like this would happen the minute that the anniversary was announced. Also, Dave Mustaine is a fucking douche.

I still dig Megadeth but I lost so much respect for Mustaine after what he was saying about Jeff Young.

This might be the first time I disagree with you and think that your post (in a non trool thread) is pretty dang stupid

1. As Keenan said, most of the Evile discussion takes place in the, well, EVILE DISCUSSION PART OF THE FORUM!
2. We're talking about the guy you refer to as "one of the biggest dickheads in metal history" (which I slightly disagree with) beacause he's actually part of the topic at hand. (Junior back in Megadeth!)

I don't see why people are crying over J-LO so much. The guy is like 60, and he's not even a thrasher because he comes from a gay 80's band. He probably joined Megadeth for the good pay. I remember him saying in an interview how complex Megadeth basslines are to him. I think he is why many of the older songs were never played live. With Ellefson back in the band, Megadeth is going to be a fucking powerhouse! If they write a new album together it will rule for Ellefson contributed to Megadeth songwriting, he fucking wrote DAWN PATROL man. Wake up, this is Megadeth.
