Just bought EMG's, quick question

I just ordered EMG 81-85's for my explorer on ebay. Got them today and they didnt come with anything other than the pups (i knew this before hand.) I got the quick connect cables for them. Tomorrow i am getting 3 25k ohm pots (i had stock humbuckers which run i believe 500K) and some wire from radioshack. Do i need a new pickup selector switch or does it now matter between passive/active? Thanks for any advice.

PS: I also know to get the 9 volt battery connector

Depends on what kinda switch was in there to begin with. If it was a 3 way you are good to go.

nah, besides the 25k pots (did you buy linear or log?) and the battery clip you'll only need the jack (stereo/switch)

Its a 3 way yes. The pots are wired 2 volume 1 tone if im not mistaken

I didnt buy them, is there something i should know about linear vs log? And buy jack you mean like the 1/4 input jack right?

Edit: Also i just realized that the screw to hold the pup to the casing (i guess you could call it that) it too thick, looks like a trip to the hardware store also lol

really? not at home depot or lowes? I know it a 1 1/4" screw with 3-48 thread. Well looks like i wont be playing these pups for another week if i have to order that too

Hardware store might actually have them - I've found Floyd Rose compatible allen parts at tiny ass hardware stores in central Oregon before.

I would consider yourself lucky... I've been to every home depot, lowes in Los Angeles and a couple hand fulls of mom & pop type hardware store and found nothing...

lol i have some sitting around and i didnt know if i need audio wire (which they have at my local radioshack but its too thick) or i can use this hookup wire. Thanks in advance, going to buy my pots right now
