Woohoo!! My first interface is finally here. I'm using it with a SM57. I'm still getting used to it, how it works, etc. I use it right now with Garage Band 2. It's all I've got right now. I want to be able to use DFHS sooner or later for drum sounds. Excuse my lack of knowledge, but could someone roughly explain how they use this program?? Do you use a hardware sampler to enter the hits?? Software sampler?? Are there special programs for this?? Lastly, will I be able to use DFHS with garage band?? Thanks dudes.

Hey congrats man!

Not sure about DFHS being compatable with garage band.. but it has a software samples, yes.. you drop all the samples on your HD.. you trigger them with the samper.. really easy... you might want to get into MIDI though..

See, the way i work with DFHS.. i have nuendo as my host, i open DFHS in there as a virtual instrument, i then implement MIDI hits in nuendo's piano roll.. (witha DFHS drummap that comes with it) every MIDI hit will be translated with whatever sample you choose to use..

Beware though, DFHS will not work on it's own with ease.. you will need a host to use it.. and a sequencer to input the notes..

another point of notice, DFHS is fun, but get ready for a lot of tweaking on the samples.. kick, snare, OH, AMB.. all will need a lot of editing..

but then again, there are a lot of tips, and even templates on the DFHS disc.. one template even includes the settings done by meshuggah.. very good starting point..

Sweet dude, I have a Firepod as well. It is soo awesome and really works seamlessly with any program. I use it with nuendo and cubase on a PC and have never had problems with it. But i dont know about the sampling stuff I've never messed midi in my studio.
