Just joined a band and recording their demo (mix of om&m, tdwp, and Silverstein)

I guess they kinda sound like those three bands in a way lol.



Long story short I just joined this band after their vocalist left (I scream in the recording) and I also helped them write a few other songs. We ended up creating enough content to record a full length EP.

Anyway this is the first full track on the EP and I would like to get feedback on the mix. First thing I noticed was the lead guitar seems too loud and I'm not sure the vocals are sitting right. That and the whole thing just sounds weird to me, but maybe I've just been listening to it too much.

Holy shit dude. High end on those screams are gross. No more distortion!!! Snare isn't punchy enough, it's buried in the mix, guitars are slightly too loud for my taste. Kick could use a little more click as well.

This may just be lossed quality from uploading to soundcloud, but it sounds like you bounced a 64kbps mix from your DAW.

It's not bad, per se, but it has a long way to come.
