Just Keep Livin'...L-I-V-I-N

Seriously. That kind of talk *deserves* a banning. Calling people "negro". Sheesh! The audacity of some people!

the funny thing is that dodens grav is probably the most outright politically correct person around

^ tru dat

I walked into work this morning and saw a friend of mine, so I said "Waddup negro?!" Then I looked over his shoulder and there was Joe, a 50-something year old black man. I felt kinda awkward for a moment.

That's so utterly embarrassing. I fear it will happen to me one day. At work somehow...where my boss is Black.

He'd probably laugh actually.

Yeah, I laugh at it now, but it was awkward as hell in the moment. Thankfully, I didn't say "nigga."

It wouldn't have been as awkward if it was a young guy, but he lived through all the BS in the 60's. Plus, he's a good dude.

Fuckit.

hasn't "my pals" actually turned into a perfectly acceptable greeting formula in the States? thought so.

haha not really, not if there's a black guy around. you don't just walk around calling people "my pals", especially if you're a foreigner haha

don't hip hop bands keep calling themselves and their friends in da hood "my pals" though?

yeah, it's totally okay if you're black, but you will probably get in trouble for saying it if you're not (even if the offended person doesn't actually care). it's pretty stupid over here.

racial minorities can call each other names, and the racial majorities.

We the racial majority in said country, ahve to shut our yaps and whatever.

Or just stop caring.

Racially sensitive people are just as dumb as the racists imo. Anyone ever struggled to describe a black guy to somebody?

Approximately 90% of the people I know use the word "my pals" in daily conversation. I always laugh that some day one of them is gonna slip up and say it when it'll get them shot or something

Try "That fellow who's teeth shine valiantly in the night". o_O

It's going to be you!

At my place of prior employ, my buddy sent me an AIM message asking me if I wanted to split the cost of a subscription to EBONY magazine for a buddy of ours who likes his women like his coffee. This message came in at the same time I was discussing a work related matter with my supervisor who happens to be an ultra liberal butch dyke lesbian. Well let's just say, I was a "send" button away from getting fired for a crossed line epitaph.

On topic: Anybody still in contact with Furious B?

the word "my pals" reminded me of a guy who came into our store and got equipment so that when he is next to one of the black dudes (or mexicans) that like to turn up the bass so that all around have to listen to that drivel, he is going to stick an airhorn out of his window so that it goes right next to the black/mexican dudes window, and then blast the thing.

great idea, but he's gonna get shot.

on/off topic: remember when everyone thought chief b was a black dude?
