Just messing with a LA-2A and a LA-3A at my studio...

Dude, I fucking love the La-2a. This is an amazing unit. To bad it is so expensive and still I am thinking about buying one!
Can anyone sugest my a clone to look at before I decide to spend all my money for the original?

The La-3a is a great compressor as well. But so far I am not really impressed by this one. It has given my quite good results on the top snair but sucked on guitars.

just thought I share this with you since it is some kind of an experience to have such demo gear for use at your own studio. Cant wait for my Distressor to arrive!

the LA2A is a great unit. Not just a compressor but also a pre-amp. You can use that sucker to power up some of your dynamic mics and get some good tube tone out of it.

The UA LA2A's are great, overpriced, but great... try cloning one yourself, check on the www.prodigy-pro.com/forum i think there's a few guys that do em.
