Can't wait for it to arrive! Will be the 3rd Carvin that I've owned.

Sweet dude, I'm not a fan of the pickguard, but I love the silverburst finish, and I'm sure it'll play great! Was this from their "Guitars in Stock" section? (since you have a pic of it already)

plus one on 86-ing the pickguard with a mirror or black. the silverburst is really cool looking.

their bolts are overpriced IMO, but congrats, I'm sure it'll play nice. they make good stuff, and getting new guitars is always a good thing.

the carvin I had with a wilkinson really had a lot of springiness in the bridge - I bent a note and the thing really pulled up off the body. can't say mine came with a nice set-up from the factory.

Yeah it was in-stock. I actually like the pickguard and will likely tighten the bridge so it sits against the body. I generally only use whammy bars for lowering note pitches anyway.

My DC127M plays and sounds awesome, underrated guitars for sure. Wish they had cooler inlay options and offered fretboard binding though! And typically they butcher bursts where the outer ring is black, the transition is never smooth :/ Here's mine...

I think the pickguard is going to be a lot darker under normal light. In a lot of the other guitar pics the black pearloid is much darker. Think it's the camera lights. Either way, I dig it and I'm super pumped.

Nice, the only thing I cant take is the volume pot so close to the pickup. Man I would being doing inadverdant volume swells all day long

Yeah, it's definitely going to take some getting used to, as I tend to hook my pinky on the bridge pickup. Won't be able to do that so much on this guitar.

+1 BILLION, I've removed the volume knob (so it's just the pot shaft) on both of the Ibanez RG's I've owned for this reason, and both weren't even as close as the Strat-style pickguard placement! :erk: Then again, I'm a pinky-anchorer

I ended up returning the guitar after only 1 day of having it. I absolutely cannot get used to the volume knob. Drives me bonkers. It played great, looked great, and sounded great, but it doesn't sound as good or play as good as my Schecter Blackjack with a Bareknuckle Miracle Man in the bridge. I knew there was a chance that this would happen, but that's what the 10 day return policy is for.
