KARNIVOOL Return With “Drone” Single; Australian And UK Tour Dates Announced

"...It’s official. A new Karnivool chapter begins. “Drone” is the first new piece of music from the band in four years and it’s out now.

As with everything Karnivool does, “Drone” is very much worth the wait. Lifted from the larger body of work that can finally be seen on horizon, the song reminds us why the Perth prog rockers are without peer and patience is rewarded.

The band comments:
Drone’ is the sound of Karnivool entering a new era — a slow-cooked journey forged in the studio’s heat, where every note was tested and tempered. This track hums with the weight of vast Western Australian deserts, anchored by colossal rock riffs that could only come from ourhome. It’s both a reflection and a rebirth.

More music news imminent. This is just the beginning…"

KARNIVOOL To Release In Verses Album In February; “Aozora” Visualiser Video Streaming

"... Over a decade in the making, Karnivool have announced their new album, In Verses will be released on February 6 via Cymatic Records / Sony Music.

The band have also gifted us their new single, “Aozora”. Already a staple in their setlist, the renetic “Aozora” – inspired by the Japanese term for ‘blue sky’ – seeks escape, yearning for freedom of human complexity and oppression.

Vocalist Ian Kenny offers:
The whole theme for that song is escaping, or waiting to escape...trying to find a way to escape yourself. The idea of finding freedom in the blue. Trying to find freedom amongst the complications of just being human. We’re so weird, you know? Trying to understand that at different times along the road, sometimes you end up with more questions than answers.

The new single is available for streaming here, and a visualizer can be found below....

... Though a lot has happened in the 12 years between albums, come February 6, the release of In Verses is as much of an achievement for Karnivool as it is a love letter for the fans who have grown with the band; a fitting payoff for years of loyalty and consistent support.
