Well the promo says it all. After watching this album promo I pre-ordered me a copy, it comes out on Feb.9

I absolutely loved Keel when I was growing up. The band spent five years in my heavy rotation. However, I will not be buying this. The samples sound awful. Perhaps musicians in their 50s, who have taken a twenty year brake, should move on? Just sayin...

Keel never did much for me back in their prime much less now. It's hard for me to get excited over any new release from the 80's hard rock bands these days. I've been let down so much, it's just not the same. I dread what Ratt is going to sound like.

I'm kinda with you on this but it sounds a 100 times better than that Iron Horse release. I'll give this one a shot.

I loved this band, great memories of those albums. :kickass:

Which ones have disappointed you? For me, there have been some quality releases; like Winger, Europe, and Stryper to name a few. I too am not looking foward to what Ratt is coming out with but I'll take a listen. I am though looking foward to the new Keel. If anyone can put out a good comeback album it's Ron Keel and Marc Ferrari. The Final Frontier was a killer cd. Keel was one of the few hair bands of the day that had some balls to their music. At least their putting some new stuff out their unlike bands like Poison and Cinderella that just keep on touring with the same old catalog. Just my 2 cents though.

The Right to Rock, The Final Frontier and the S/T release were all fantastic. Hell, I even liked Lay Down the Law. However, given that the numbers of great CDs put out by 80s bands since the 80s is zero, I just don't bother with these releases any longer.

Winger's IV wasn't very good at all, but Karma is decent. Stryper are great live, but their studio efforts suck. The latest Europe releases have been okay at best, but John Norum is always cool. Motley Crue's SOLA was okay at best. The latest House of Lords efforts have been very mundane in my opinion and I like their old stuff. Skid Row, well their stuff has been terrible. Tesla on the other hand, has stayed solid in the studio, but still sound killer live. Danger Danger is the only "hair band" that has truly kept my interest in the studio over the years.

Strypers Reborn cd was pretty bad but I really like their latest one. I forgot about House of Lords, their last 3 CDs have been really solid. I also forgot about Danger Danger, their latest is also really good. And yes, I agree, Tesla has been the best of the bunch.

HELL YEAH! Four Winds.. whew, way to pull some great stuff from the depths Glenn!

I still say we need a new Badlands album with Shortino on vocals, but since Jake E Lee is in .... wait for it....

Enuff Z'nuff :goggly:

We might have to wait on that pipe dream.

That would be pretty good I'm sure but the Badlands name should be left to rest. Ray was a major part of that magic. I would not want to hear a different singer with Rough Cutt either.
And King Kobra will not be the same without Marcy.

Well, he guested with them, but he's not part of that band. With that said, I have no idea why he'd even waste his time as a guest on their album.

Instead of having Shortino on vox, I'd rather see the following:

Badlands Reunion
Vocals - Jeff Martin
Guitar - Jake E Lee
Bass - Greg Chaison
Drums - Eric Singer

Now wouldn't that be interesting? Yes, I think Jeff Martin could do justice to Ray's material and he's an actual member of the band.

just FYI for everyone out there, it seems ROCK CANDY RECORDS has both Badlands tapped for official reissue in 2010. kick ass!

I didn't care much for Voodoo Highway but their S/T and Dusk were really solid. Both still find their way into my rotation.

Every Badlands disc is a classic. Ray Gillen was a God on the mic, Jake E Lee went from boring crapola with Ozzy to instant classic with Badlands. Too bad Ray left and later died. This band was great!
