Is anyone familiar with this band? I have their CD 'Isola' (currently one of my favorites) and I was wondering how the rest of their releases compare to that. Also, how are their Swedish releases compared to the ones done in English?

Good band. They remind me of dEUS a lot too.

dEUS (with the d like dISEMBOWELMENT:heh: )

If you like that sort of thing but want a more metallic edge to it, I'd recommend the album "Jupiter" by Cave In. It's really good.

hmmm....you have any other recommendations? Other Kent albums? I've been on the acoustic/poppy music trip for a while with ELLIOT SMITH, JEFF BUCKLEY, RED HOUSE PAINTERS, SIGUR ROS...So I'm down with anything along those lines...

Muse would have to be an obvious recommendation. They're pretty big over here, but I'm not sure about the US. If you have Audiogalaxy you should at least try and download "Muscle Museum" or "Unintended".

The Keith Caputo album (ex Life Of Agony vocalist, though the solo stuff is light-years away from metal) is pretty huge too. The songs are dripping with emotion (sometimes a little too much, if you know what I mean), and the standout tracks are "Home" and "Neurotic".

For some good ol' heartwrenching Emo I'd recommend Benton Falls, Forever Until October, New End Originals, The Promise Ring and Jimmy Eat World.

very mainstream.. actually, i cant even think of a swedish band that has had more radio time than Kent for the last couple of years... (well maybe i can, but that should give you an idea of their imense popularity)

Yeah....mainstream indeed...they have a couple of good songs...but their last releases do not impress me at all....
Om du var här.... Om jag var där.....Idag....... was that a hit or what?
I think they even did a english version....

yeah they're good friends with slipknot and used to tour with them before they were big. pity Kent were left behind whilst slipknot went big, that why slipknots - Left Behind, is about leaving Kent behind on their big trip to stardom. :p

err.....am I missing something here?

Om Du Var Här....
Is that 'If you were here'? That's the single that made me buy their album 'Isola'...which just keeps getting better with every listen!

You Swedes should count yourselves lucky that you get bands like Kent having tons of radio play...All we have is teen pop stars, boy bands, and teenage angst 'metal'....
