KFC (Canada)

ahahaha I just saw that commercial on tv last night. The best part is that I work at KFC, and I've always got some sort of metal blaring from the stereo when I'm working. Maybe for my next shift I should wear some corpse paint haha.

the commercial is ok, although its great to have one with music in it. I hate KFC because IT IS really fat, just as i hate macdonalds or burger king. addind some spice to cover the extra fat doesnt interrest me.

I think its lame that a multinational corporation is now trying to co-opt a genre of music/artistic expression that originally emerged as a kind of rebellion against the establishment.

And KFC is disgusting - just as bad, if not worse than, McDonalds. Down with it all.

Would you mind explaining the first part of your post, Beave?

In case I am outing myself as an idiot now: I don't mind.

Certainly. (And having read many of your posts, i know you are no idiot.:))

Anyhow, for example, I used to be a HUGE punk rock fan. It's all i ever listened to for many years. Back in the 80's it was really underground and vibrant, a true place for social malcontents (like myself) to express their outrage at society in general.

Then came the 90's, and major labels started signing so-called "punk" bands like Green Day, Blink 182, etc., and the punk scene became totally watered down and lost any many it once had. Now you have twits like Paris Hilton and her clones "rocking out" to "punk rock". It's totally mainstream. You have soccer mom's playing it while they drive their kids to practice in a mini-van.

There's no difference anymore between bands like Good Charolette and boy bands like In Sync or what have you. The merely serve to perpetuate mindless consumerism.

Also regarding KFC - i've heard they have created genetically engineered chickens that do not grow feathers or beaks so they are easier to "process."

KFC eaters should keep that in mind next time they start craving the Colonel.

I also hate the fact that the rest of the world is becoming so Americanized, as many great and ancient cultures are being destroyed in the process.

The world is becoming one big Wal-Mart.:(

Here's post just because i love to do things only in 3's. Haha.

Seriously though, I could have put it more succinctly: My understanding of the black metal scene was that it rejected modern day pop culture. KFC is a form of pop culture.

I see what you mean. And I must say, we seem to think quite alike. Well but for KFC: That's sort of a mirror how we humans think: Let's make everything working for us, recklessly of what comsequences it might have... for anyone. Sad but true, somehow. I mean it for the meat/food industry as for the music industry as for most likely everything.

KFC and any fast food chain is gross.
I recently lost A LOT of weight (about 6 dress sizes) due to cutting that crap out of my diet. I also, have another reason now not to eat anything fast food. I watched a show on National Geographic, 6 degrees that could change the world...some guy did a study, on fast food...he found eating 3 burgers a week is worse than driving an SUV your whole life.
He included the methane gas the cows produce, the fuel used to transport it, and the energy that is used to store and cook it.
Fast food isn't just giving people weight and heart problems, it is also helping to pollute the planet. Not to mention how lazy it makes people. Less than half the people I know can cook a damn meal for themselves. Why learn to cook when you can order pizza or drive to McDonald's.
