The Green Evening Requiem - s/t Demos I & II

We are proud to announce that TGER is now being distributed by our very own Krankenhaus Records for retail distribution in Canada (through Sonic Unyon) and is now also available for order from The End Records: http://shopping.theendrecords.com/s.nl/it.A/id.12715/.f

Here's what The End Records has to say about it: "If you want to hear the beginnings of a band that could go onto Katatonia/Opeth size adulation someday, listen to this release by The Green Evening Requiem. Their material effortlessly combines dark metal atmospheres, black metal creepiness, progressive arrangements and influences from far outside the metal realm. Recorded in two different sessions, this impressive material points to a bright future for this unique act."

Here is what Unrestrained! magazine said:

"It had been a while since I had heard this album and I'm glad I had
distanced myself, I forgot how damn good this record was. With a nod
to an assortment of influences including Opeth, Agalloch, Woods of
Ypres, Vintersorg, and Aphotic, this Pennsylvania outfit brings out a
lot of variety on this recording, quite a feat for what appears to be
a very young group of musicians. This demo consists of five new songs
and four from a previous demo, the older stuff a bit less focused and
grand sounding as the newer songs. Hands down my favourite cut on the
album is "Atlantis in Winter," an epic doom-laden number that relies
on harsh vocals and the occasional surge of melodic vocals to bring a
texture of warmth to the frigid realm. The only down side to the solid
work put forth on this release is the production--that is where age
and experience may play a factor. Muffled at times and spotty in
others, I can only imagine what a real good production would turn up
for TGER. In the end, this release is a perfect assembly of where TGER
are musically and a snapshot of where they could go--the routes they
could travel are plentiful. Thanks to a strong distribution via
Krankenhaus (WoY frontman David Gold's label) this band is getting
some well-deserved exposure. Not that they need it, but it all helps
in the end."
