Kick and Snare "alt" folders?

I just bought the Truth Custom Black and Gold drum set, and for the kicks and the snares, there are "alt" and "alt 2" folders that have more samples in them. What's the difference between the samples in the "alt" folders and the regular ones?

Oh, also, probably a noob question, but what are the "SS" and "crack" hits for the snares? What does that mean?

Can't say for sure but those might be mastered and unmastered hits.

ss prolly stands for super soft and crack is just a really hard hit.

lol that'd be useless, it's just alternate processing in case you like those more than the others

i'd say yes SS = supersoft. crack = rimshot (stick hitting the head and rim at same time producing a loud 'crack')

Pretty those are what DeclanWhite said. Just different processing options.
