Kick Reso Head Recommendations?

Stock head on my kick is starting to rip due to my shoddy job of cutting a port hole in it. What are you guys liking on the reso side of your kick? Got to be honest I don't think I've ever recorded a drummer with anything other than the stock kick reso!

It's a 22' Mapex M Birch with a Powerstroke 3 on batter side.

Honestly, anything with a small mic hole should work fine. I like the Evans EMAD resonant heads, but I'm really not picky with kick reso heads.

THINNER IS BETTER in my experience. Remo Ambassador.

Also, I have this nifty drum head hole cutter that I got from Guitar center. Has a little center spike and a circular razor in it. Like a compass that cuts holes in bass drum heads. If you need to do it often, that tool is the shiz. Perfect every time.

What does a thinner reso head do on kick? I thought thinner meant more sustain. Seems most people really dampen the kick
