I'm happy to hear you seem to be on the right side of this now. I mentioned earlier all the medical issues I've had and can definitely relate to medications and how some issues can be directly attributed to them. During my second Bone Marrow Transplant I had, what I call my lost four days, four days that I'll never remember what happened, that were attributed to acute renal failure. My parents were visiting me and we went for a walk in the hallways of the transplant unit, about ten minutes into the walk, I started to feel dizzy and my parents tell me I started slurring all my words and eventually my speech became incomprehensible. My parents assisted me back to my room and my mother alerted the medical staff.
At first it was suspected that I had a stroke. It was soon determined that my kidneys had stopped functioning as a result of the pre-transplant chemo and meds (it was never determined what the exact culprit was), but the end result was four days of working to get my kidneys functioning again with a variety of other medications. As we entered day four, there was talk of starting me on dialysis, but fortunately it ended up not being required, and fortunately my kidney function recovered. But those four days will never be more than what my family (my wife and parents) tell me stories of, as all I remember from about 90 hours of time is going for the initial walk with my parents.
It was an extremely scary time for them (not that the whole cancer and bone marrow transplant for the second time wasn't enough to worry about). For me - I don't recall it at all.
Keep getting better my friend.
