This is the kind of music that ends up being mocked on youtube by means of a reinterpretation of the lyrics:
For example, the first line of the opening song 'Tag Your Bones' sounds like:
"grab life!, grabbed by eggs, let us walk till I bleed."
and the chorus sounds like this:
"wall bacon, by your sword, pack your butts with the buttering!"
Indeed. Well, all these brilliant observations aside, I did like some of the album. The production is really dirty but retains the necessary clarity. For example, the bonus track 'VI' reminds me of early Pantera production. What the production gets right though the songwriting gets wrong. Every riff is sleepy time in dullsville and the vocals use the same inflections all the way through the album. The band end up sounding like generic metalcore and even good metalcore bores the shit out of me nowadays. As a wise man once said: 'Not enough! I need more!' And I do. Alot more.
