Killing a band audition

Be tight, know the songs like the back of your hand, show enthusiasm for the material (IE rock out but don't overdo it), dress like you belong in the band and would fit into a photoshoot or show easily, and hope they get along with you on a personal level.
Avoid: Kissing ass. This can be the wost thing ever when auditioning new members, as it's weird playing with someone who's "starstruck." Also avoid criticizing too much in an effort to not kiss ass, nobody wants to be a jackass.
As long as you're 1. On time (rationally speaking, there's no such thing as early, just on time or late), 2. know the material and play it tightly, 3. look/act like you're enjoying yourself and are fun to be around 4. have your equipment in good shape and setup time down to a minimum, you're golden.

this band doesnt seem to need a shredder anyway from what I've heared in the songs on their page...if you take the stuff into account that Jeff said it should go well...know your shit, be yourself, play tight and clean then it should be fine!
if you overdo stuff and pretend like your supercool or anything it will be a PITA anyway afterwards when you know eachother better on a personal level.

You should be fine if you take the advice given above.
Don't worry about not being a shredder unless the band is particularly shred heavy. Personally I can't think of anything that would put me off a guitarist more then someone who comes in and starts noodling his arse off in an audition.

That's good. I have never had the "shred" mentality. I've always opted to play easier stuff better... Hopefully it will work out for me now. lol

If their girl friends are at the practice spot do not stare at their tits to much.
But seriously don't do that. The last band I was in a dude tried out and his buddy came to help him move his rig and spent the whole time eye ball fucking the bass players wife. Not the way to make a good impression.
