Andy,

I was wondering how you processed the toms and snare on the Killswitch album to get them so damn big, yet without drowning anything else out.

Thanks

Most of the drums are samples on the killswitch album. The toms are from an Alesis DM5 and the snare is good old FAT CITY from a D4. The snare was actually Adams call, he used that sample on the roughs and we were kinda laughing about how old school it sounded so we thought fuck it and used it. I usually use Metric Halo's Channel Strip on the kit, I like the sound of the smooth compressor setting on drums, the eq's ok and I'll use a medium room in D Verb and play around with that til there is something I like.

I've got a dmpro... do you think there's anything of comparable quality on it, or maybe a way to import the older samples?

Also, I read that you always mix with the L2 on the mix. What preset do you use, and does it make your mix sound strange when you take the L2 off?

Damn, they don't make the Metric Halo channel strip for PC.... Bastards

Do you know if Bomb Factory has an exclusive deal with digidesign?

Thanks for your prompt response,
