Killswitch Engage @ Wacken

I've seen them a few times; Not a bad live band, but not something I would buy either. Furthermore, besides Iron Maiden and At the Gates the Wacken lineup looks weak this year.

yeah I saw that on MTV the other day....it's not necessarily terrible, it's just redundant. It's not different enough to distinguish itself from the better original version. And obviously the video is a spoof on all things "old school" which is why bands like Killswitch Engage are a little disingenuous -- on one hand they're covering a tried and tested song, and on the other, they're making fun of it.

It's all pop manufactured 'metal', no matter how good the execution. There is no doubt, for example, the vocalist here can sing. However, the minute KSE stop selling records, it's not as if they'll continue to churn out music on the underground and finance themselves and live through hardship. They'll simply split up and call it a day. Anyone know where all those nuMetal bands are these days?

LOL @ watching MTV

But, yea I entirely agree with that bottom paragraph. I'll be counting down the days for their abrupt demise.

Holy shit, its daylight outside. :zombie:

As I Lay Dying just got added to Wacken now. Wonderful, the whole point of flying to a festival out there is to see bands I'll never get to see here in the US, and all those bands are following me this year and making spendin the cash worthless.

Unfortunately I need like a year to save up to go to a fest and Ragnarok's just too soon for me to save up adequate funds, not to mention get a passport in a hurry. I may hold on to my Wacken tickets until it sells out and sell them on ebay, maybe go to Bloodstock instead.

Yea, that may be another option. When I was looking more forward to Party San then Wacken, maybe it's time to reconsider my travel plans fo the summer :p

BTW, Party San's lineup looks a little average, but it's still miles above Wacken's. At least we get Skyforger and Kampfar, plus some halfway decent DM bands and Obituary.
