Killswitch Engage @ Wacken

Yea, that may be another option. When I was looking more forward to Party San then Wacken, maybe it's time to reconsider my travel plans fo the summer :p

BTW, Party San's lineup looks a little average, but it's still miles above Wacken's. At least we get Skyforger and Kampfar, plus some halfway decent DM bands and Obituary.

Thing is, if line up is the only criteria for people choosing a fest, I'm sure Wacken will sell out with the inclusion of these four bands alone:

At the Gates
Iron Maiden
Carcass
Avantasia

Yea, they suckered me into that with those 4 bands :p

With limited cash, lineup's a HUGE factor in going to festivals. I know the experience of a fest is one of the many factors to consider, but I just have more enthuasasm (sp!) when a show's got an insane lineup to boot. Granted to draw the masses you have to have a few of those bands on there, but so far Wacken's lineup's just been one disappointment after another after announcing those 4 bands.

Iron Maiden's coming here, Carcass and At the Gates are probably doing a package tour, Avantasia... we can see Edguy here at least, close enough. It'd be worth it if I couldn't just pay $20 for a ticket to see these bands here without taking any time off work rather then pay for a european flight to go see the same bands just because I get to camp out with an army of global metalheads.

At any rate, if Ragnarok's as good in 2008 as it is this year, I'll be making the journey out there for sure.
