king diamond is much more atmospheric than mercyful fate and mercyful fate sound to ordanairy.

I'd say Mercyful fate, but then again I haven't heard much from King Diamond.

Deffinately Merciful Fate, while King Diamond is really good,
I would consider Fate an essential piece.
Also, it's not quite so eccentric as K.D. who's albums are all "concept albums"
I think each one is a continuation of the previous story..

although the dvd option is pretty cool.
