Tommy Thayer recently told radio host Ed Trunk that the Symphony CD/DVD would be released through Sanctuary Records.

I guess it's an improvement on some of the Spitfire rumours I've been hearing, but their Australian distribution still leaves a lot to be desired.

Definitely, but I'm not buying it unless there's some new or previously unreleased stuff included. I don't have enough room in my CD rack for endless repackagings of the same old songs, even if the covers are cool.

I want to see some full concerts on DVD! South American Creatures tour anyone? :headbang:

Kiss need to release some live shows on video/DVD! They professionally shot concerts from every tour except the Asylum one I think.... RELEASE THEM!

I actually find it quite promising that Kiss have signed to a hard rock/heavy metal label instead of a major pop label :)

All I want though is either for Kiss to quit, or to give Peter and Tommy the boot, take off the makeup, and continue as a REAL BAND again progressing from album to album like they were until the mid-90s. I'm sick of them just being a nostalgia act. For a one-off Reunion tour, FINE. But this is ridiculous.

To quote Paul Stanley in 1993: "We're certainly proud of our past but we have no intention of living off it."

If only they still had that attitude now...

I agree with Troops, ditch the makeup and bring back Eric Singer, but keep Tommy. Bruce is busy doing his own thing and you'd *never* get Vinnie to come back.

Tommy has worked with Gene & Paul for years, and so is used to putting up with their crap . I'm sure that lineup could make at least one album with the consistency of Revenge, and I'd like to see it happen. Better anything than the third-rate nostalgia band they are now!

okay... I don't know any of the lineup changes at all.

All I know is the KISS I like and that is Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter :D

ceydn... check out the early '80s Kiss lineup of Paul, Gene, Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr... and then the non makeup era with Bruce Kulick on lead guitar and Eric Carr/Eric Singer on drums. Alot harder rocking, alot more metal, alot sleazier, better production, awesome guitar work, much better musicianship.... great stuff!

Easily Kiss' best period musically! Some great stuff indeed, and horribly overlooked today because Gene and Paul seem to think it's only important to live off the memories of the Kissmania of the Love Gun era :(

And as a live band, I think their peak would've been the Revenge tour. That stageshow was their best I think (the stage had a proper theme and cool lasers, not just a regular stage with lots of pyro).... and the sound was great on the tour from the stuff I've heard (Love Gun on Kiss My Ass video rules!!) and the setlist was LONG and awesome! And there was strippers!!!

Dunno how much (if any) Tommy played on Psycho Circus. Peter definitely drums on Into The Void, and the rest is either Kevin Valentine or samples.

Ceydn, speaking as a KISS fan of more than 20 years, I can tell you that every era is worth investigating. Gene and Paul don't give any lineup except the original the credit it deserves.

Tommy didn't play anything on Psycho Circus, however Paul played a few of Ace's leads and some of Gene's bass parts.

On Carnival Of Souls, Gene Simmons hardly played any bass at all. Bruce did nearly all of it.

Hmm, dunno why I assumed Tommy played some stuff on Psycho Circus.

Carnival of Souls rules! Third-best Kiss album ever (after Crazy Nights and Revenge)!

Carnival Of Souls is good but its definitely the weakest of the non-makeup albums!!! It just doesn't have a Kiss vibe to it that's why.

However it is much better than Dynasty, Psycho Circus, the solo albums (except Paul's), Unmasked, etc.
