Korn III

hahaa well to go on with the conversation again, I dislike fieldy´s bass tone, totally. On all the early albums, hate it

Haha i was only joking, but I'm not really a fan of his bass tone, I mean he has some great technique but that clicking noise was just annoying after a while :D

Personally I hate Fieldy's bass tone because I know it is responsible for about 75% of the bassists I have to mix as a FOH engineer having the most awful, clanky, piece of shit tones I have ever heard.

I dig his bass tone...to me its one of those sounds you hear and you automatically know what band it is. But in all fairness if it was any other band trying to use the same tone it would probably sound like complete shit.

First Release July 12 2010 (Roadrunner Records): Emerging from the depths of Bakersfield, California with a sound unlike any other in 1994, Korn have been able to cement themselves as one of the most important bands in modern rock. Returning with their 9th studio album, 'Remember Who You Are' bursts at the seams with the very feeling that defined the band from their inception. Each song unleashes uneasiness reminiscent of Korn's earliest and most unbridled material, but there's also a modern refinement that's epic in its execution. Korn definitely don't lose sight of their roots, but they also venture into uncharted darkness. Lead single 'Oildale (Leave Me Alone)' buzzes with an eerie clean guitar that slowly gives way to a steamrolling bass and riff assault. 'Move On' morphs from a myriad of creaking tones into an explosive vocal freak-out and the neck-snapping 'Fear Is A Place to Live' tempers guitar dissonance with an unforgettable chorus.

To me Lacuna Coil had a similar bass tone, not quite as clicky, but it had a lot of the same elements, and sounded very far from shit to my ears.

My feelings are that they (Korn) suffered a great loss when first head and then David left the band. As someone said before me that he liked Heads solo record more... well i think it's a great album...

I really like the first 4 albums (till' Issues), and enjoyed a couple of songs from "Untouchables", especially "thoughtless" (that song is amazing... the chorus is omg).

Regarding the new album, there are a few parts i really like (esp. the chorus of "the past", which is amazing), but most of it sounds like an uninspired rehash of the first 2 albums, with a little of experimentation they did after.

And i think the production is amazing. I love the tone. Sounds raw but in a killer way.
