Never played one, but they sure look cool. If you want to hear one, pop in a Damageplan CD. Dime is endorsed by them and uses them now. Sounds just like his Randall rig to me.
I checked their website now looks like Slipknot (eww), Marilyn Manson (ewww), Creed (ewwwwwww) use Krank Amps also. I don't know if they exclusively do so though...
ESP sucks. No originality in their shapes, I mean each of their shapes are either a direct knock-off or a fusion of two other shapes. Decent priced Korean line, overpriced Japanese line, extremely overpriced custom shop. That guitars owe all the tone they can get to the stock EMG pups.
I had an ESP for 3 days... I absolutely hated everything about it. I don't even remember the model name (it looked like it had a fuckin tree branch hangin' off the top of it). It was an incredibly uncomfortable guitar in every way. Most of all, it sounded like shit. I traded it in for an Ibanez Destroyer (which I don't own anymore either but it was pretty nice). Now I stick with USA made Dean guitars because I love everything about them. I've had an ML for over 13 years and it's made me the player that I am. Pair a vintage Dean up to my Warhead rig and you've created a serious wall of tone IMO.
When it comes to Vintage American I really respect Dean, BC Rich and Gibson. For me nothing beats the mojo of a REAL BC Rich. I mean real not Indonesian, Korean or Japanese.
The Krank staff were banned from Harmony Central after they posted tons of reviews about their own stuff. I tried one of the top of the line Krank's and it was shite, a Crate Solid state sounds better!!
So we keep thashing with 5150's, Mesa's, Engl (oh yeah! EEENNNGGGLLL!!!) and
some Marshall's and of course my old Sovtek Mig50 that is an animal!!!
All the good amps that we know for sure that we can always get a good guitar sound!
I heard a lot of noise about thie Krank amps, but as I didn't try them and even knew the company I was wondering...Besides that Dimebag is endorsed by them
with his own model "Krankenstein" I was curious about it!...
Anyway thanks for the advise guys!
Yea - I went to the Cradle show over the weekend and noticed that the stage right guitarist was using Krank stuff (I'm not sure which one of the Arnott brothers he is...the guy with red hair.)
I couldn't tell what the other guitarist was playing....perhaps a Hughes & Kettner..
but overall..I must say..it sounded pretty good..in fact, I'd say Arch Enemy was the best sounding band of the night...
