Krankenstein Tubes

What are good tubes for the Krankenstein? I spoke with Doug from Doug's Tubes and his suggestion below--is this good advice?

There are many 6L6GC options, I like the RUBY 6L6GCMSTR's myself. In the preamp a Tung-Sol reissue along with a JJ ECC83S and a 9th generation Shuguang 12AX7C's in V3 and a Sovtek 12AX7LPS for the phase inverter would really kick it in there.

Ruby tubes. Yuck.

His preamp recommendations sound good though. FOr the poweramp I would go with JJ's.

Nothing at all. The EL34STRs are fantastic, and I can only assume the 6L6 is great too.

In a Krank I like JJs in the power amp, and Chinese tubes in the preamp.

Sure do. Easy to do on your own if there are bias test points on your amp. Don't know if the Kranks have them.
