Hi i just bought these monitors and have a little hiss even if i unplug audio cables. Is that normal? Whats they like with comapre to yamaha hs80m? (Same price here in CR).

The self noise in some units is fairly 'high'. The bigger the drivers - the louder they go, and the deeper, so I've found that they're fairly noisy until there's noise running through them.
There's the same problem with the HS80s. Have a search around on the internet and you'll see some people reporting the same issue!

Yep, it's normal. I have them too, at first i was kinda freaked out by it. But now I got used to it, they are not that close to my ears anyway.

hope i did good buy . They priced same as yamaha hs80s. But i liked the KRK sound more.

there's always some hiss of some form coming from monitors, some more than others
only thing is is that if you went HS80, you are going to get a bit more midrange information than the KRKs, but the hiss will be there regardless
