Kudos to ChiefB

it's a little late but I wanted to congratulate you on your interview with Evergrey's guitarist...it was humorous, and your observation of the similarities between Recreation Day's "In my Darkest Hour" and Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky" was spot on. As I was swilling beer last night I listened to the two songs back to back and it really was quite startling, the segments which start with a piano interlude and then the respective females wailing lyricless vocals.

Cheers Lizard!

Those two tracks are really amazing when you hear them back to back like that, and the female vocals (on both) simply blow me away.

My next interview is with King Diamond. I'm sure that will be a real blast.

Yeah, but you know what? People don't pick that stuff out and publish it in interviews. Like the stuff I picked out with Into Eternity about their vocal scales, or what Mark picked out on Nevermore with Alice in Chains, or what Chief B picked out on Evergrey and the Pink Floyd homage.

I'm not saying other people haven't noticed it, but they're certainly not discussing it in the interviews. 99% of band interviews are boring as fuck IMO, and it's the finite details like this that makes the band think, 'yeah, these guys are really listening closely'.

I hate reading scripted interviews as they just bore me to tears.

The main essence of our interviews is not just to find out about how they accomplished xyz on the album but to find the human element in the person I am interviewing.

Satanic buggering and various other practises are definately top of my agenda. King Diamond has moved our interview slot to next week. The reason is that he has an import of fresh busty virgins arriving from Eastern Europe that must be de-flowered before their expiration date! :)

Yes - like their opinions of the infamous Swedish porn industry.

Ask him who he thinks would win in a fight between Jesus and Muhammad.
