Heart of Dixie
I definitely lean towards the prog side of the ProgPower equation, but I kept seeing Falconer pop up on the 2012 guess list. Feeling bored one night, I figured "what the hell" and downloaded their s/t album. That is some seriously good fromage. While I can't see myself wielding a blacksmith's hammer should they make the 2012 roster, I can guarantee I'll be headbanging with a cheesy ass grin on my face.

Depending on your vocal preferences, you may also like the two albums with Kristoffer Göbel on vocals. They're solid albums, but a lot of Falconer fans reject them the way a lot of Iron Maiden fans reject the Blaze Bailey albums.

As much as I like what Falconer have released since the debut, they have never ever been able to better it IMO. When that debut came out it was like what the fuck is this eargasm of power metal goodness! The only song I didn't like on the debut was the Swedish folk song tagged along on the end. I guess that's why I don't really like half of Armod where it gets too folky, not that it's bad cause they do it very well and do it justice but it's just not my cup of tea. The albums with Gobel are a bit odd. The first one he sounds pretty good on as I recall, the second one he completely ruins with this god awful, high pitched warbling tone. Blad as a singer for metal is a genius pick though, but as a frontman for a metal band he's about the worst fit I have ever ever seen and I mean this in the nicest way possible cause the guy just looks totally out of his comfort zone on stage.

^^^serious? I'd put Chapters and Northwind EASILY ahead of the debut and possibly a couple of the others. I too didn't care for the Gobel albums though...decent, but at the bottom of the pack.
