Laptop for music production

Hey guys,

I'm currently looking for a laptop to replace my desktop.

My max budget is 1200-1300.

What would you recomment to me?

Some specs I would like are Core 2 Duo, 3gb ram, I don't need a really big HD because I will buy an external tera, I don't care as for the video card because I don't play computer games, I'd like at least 15'' for the screen size, I'd prefer XP to vista.

Any suggestions?

I bought recently a Dell XPS 1530, c2d t8100 2.1Ghz, 4g ram and it's running flawlessly with ~15 tracks Cubase session+maaany plugins on Vista. It's built rock-solid and the overall quality gives really good impression. I absolutely love this stuff.

A refurbished Macbook pro. Anyway I don't know if you wanna use Windows or OsX.
I'll buy one saturday for 1399€....I hope it works good

Yeah, the last-gen MBP's are going super super cheap from Apple now!

Actually, whatever new PC laptop can run at least 50 channels of Audio with plugs. Just check for the RAM, CPU and if it has the right type of connector (Firewire - PCI) for your soundcard. I have LG myself, and it's flawless so far. 2:nd year now.
