Latest production (metalcore with real instruments)

Wow, really great mix, I love how every element breathes and how it's polished. INFO please :)

Agree with the OH's automate hit's particulalry with china-agree with some of the gang vox but it's personal in that if that's what the client wants all good but otherwise 3db lower, and perhaps alittle automation just to bring some dynamic contrast into the mix.....otherwise very nicely done.

I think the vocals may have too much high mids on them, they sound like they're coming through a telephone speaker almost. Vocals in a mix like this would sound better sitting like Defeater imo. Like you're in an open living room.

Thanks guys.

yeah guitars are dual tracked 6505 with ibanez ts9 through mesa os 412 into audient preamp.

We used a ltd horizon deluxe with the emg pickups and a ltd paula (both the 1000 models)

The snare sounds a bit smashed by the compressor/limiter. The gang vocals are indeed loud! Too loud for me. The main voice sounds a bit thin. Otherwise very good mix.

mix sounds fantastic.....lots of clarity, great levels and super tight. i would also agree that the cymbals need more definition....they seem a little bit washy. i'd say the gang vox need to come down in volume a couple of db's and they need some mids sucking out. best reference for gang vox i can think of is the comeback kid album 'turn it around'..... gang chants on that record are awesome. just listened back to the first track on that album "all in a year" and the chants sound big but yet more subtle than those on your track, if that makes sense? the only thing i can think of is maybe there's a bit too much mid and 2-4khz on your gang vox? other than that, top work mate!! :)

Haha god damnit, thats my chord progression in the beginning (shared with Maria mena, resurrect the morning and properly a thousand others :D).

Anyway, mix sounds great.. good job, I dig the song aswell as the chord progression no matter how generic it is always hits home with me :D
