Latest work (REAL guitars! ZOMG)

That hi hat is really loud. Any way to turn it down? Mix is a little cloudy sounding, like a lot of the instruments are overlapping each other.

I agree the hi-hat initially. It fades into the mix, but its very noticeable at first. Interesting mix effect at 1:13 and again at 2:34. It clips the crap out of my NS10's, but the ASP's hold up. Have you tried it on some crap speakers to see how that comes across? Overall I like it.

Here are my suggestions:

Highpass the guitars at 8khz if you haven't. A bit more mids in the guitars.

Hi hat goes down. The drums sound pretty nice otherwise.

Cut some lows out of the harmonized vocals, they'll sit better then.

Compress all of the vocals more; they're a bit too dynamic for a metal song IMHO.

Lol You mean the bass drops that are distorting the crap out of the mix?

I'd bring them down a few notches man. The master comp is telling you to fuck off when it comes in :) Otherwise this is pretty good, pretty solid.

I'd bring the vocals down too, and compress them more as well.

Good job!

+1 on compressing the vox to hell and back...there is for sure clippage on the sub drops and in other places too...love the beefy kick
