Drummer plays the whole song several times. Then check for the best takes and glue. I've seen this someone doing in PT. It's no problem to record layers in cubase but I can't find an easy way to compare the different takes. The only way I could do it is to drag the layer I wanted to hear to the lowest layer. But that does not work too well with 14 channels and usually screws around with the different layers. Help?

what I do sometimes is put the drum takes each in their own folder of tracks and then minimize the folder so it behaves like a single track

you must find "line display type" button on your track, and switch it;p

...or I misunderstood your problem then sorry, and nvm ;P

Got me wrong :) I know about that button, I just don't know if there is a quick way to audience the different layers. I have 5 tracks (14 channels drums) layered. I want to check if layer 1 is better than 2, or 4 and then edit. I need a quick and easy way to switch between layers, just like a/b'ing.

easiest way is to group all tracks vertically after you recorded a take.
this way you have 3 different tracks grouped and can switch between them. with the X tool
