i'm gonna record drums for a folk / metal band tomorrow with my new
cubase 5 system.

my question to you guys :

lets say i have 10 tracks and record 3 takes in a loop
>> if i wanted to listen take 2 , i would have to mute take 1 and 3 on every single track - right ?

problem : this takes about 30 seconds
and i get really sick of clicking and clicking while the client
waits to hear all the takes.

is there a way to automatically group all takes in cubase ?

so when i want to listen to take 1 i only have to mute take 2 and 3 on
ONE of the tracks instead of all TEN ?

thanks for your help!

I have a macro setup in C4 that will move whatever event I have selected to the back. Basically click on the take(s) you want to move to the back and press your key(s), in my case it is alt+apple+t, and the one right behind it will become the "active" take, do it again and the 3rd take comes to the front, etc. This is useful because I can pick a whole solid take from individual takes very quickly.

I will admit PT8 has the best multiple take management out there. However I find rotating through them is just as easy with my macro for me.

i figured out the best way to do this is to press:

ctrl + g after i record a take.

the macro thing is interesting.
i will read more about creating macros.

i feel cubase 5 is superior regarding mixing,
but pt 8 seems to be the way to go for pure recording.

anyway, thanks for your help!
