Since I dislike my M-Audio Solaris, on almost everything I decided to try it on a guitar cabinet. There's a tiny bit of post EQ but not much. I kind of like it.

How many of you guys use this type of mics on a regular basis?

why do you dislike the Solaris? sure it sounds absolutely amazing on this one. i've put 4 condensers one next to another to cover the whole cone and then blending them together which worked greatly but usually it's just impulses. :)

Thanks.
Well the Solaris is overly bright and sibilant for my taste on vocals, it sounds brash on cymbals and acoustic guitar. It's useful on backing vocals because of the omni and figure eight capability but again, it sounds too bright, like many low/mid priced modern LDC. I prefer my Oktavamod NT1's or MK-319 by far.
It's pretty cool on Kick drums though... And apparently cool on guitar cabinet too.
