I just learned how to sidechain today and it works wonders i sidechained kick and bass man the mix breaths a little when the compression is kicking the kick drum cuts through the mix better without being over powered by the bass guitar im gonna have to use this more often what else could i sidechain?? :kickass: Awesome!!!

I've heard of people sidechaining vocals with the rest of the mix, so all the other instruments duck just a bit when the vocals come in. I think that's used mostly in pop though.

If your into the whole bass drop/ sub boom thing you can sidechain it to a multiband compressor on the kick drum and bass. It allows a massive boom without distortion.

Also, if the snare is too loud in the overheads. Sidechaining works too.

I use my snare samples set to sidechain a gate on the snare mic so it triggers the gate

a sidechain on lead guitars, ducking the rhythms.
kick - everything else, on dnb / dance music. Add the vocals over the top - and you've got a club classic.

Just try it with everything, and anything!
