Smart C2 sidechain

Hey guys

Gonna be mixing through a C2 tomo and wanna use the sidechain but the studio owner hasnt got the proper C2 sidechain cables so Im hoping that I casn use regular xlr cables and run a high passed mult of the mix into the sidechain?? Anybody used the C2 like this?

Just had a reply back from Alan Smart himself notworthy

He said, yes you can use regular XLR's in this the way.

"yes, thats exactly what the cables do.....our filter is 3dB down at
150Hz (one for each channel) and 6dB per octave."

Yeah seen em ahjteam but they cost nearly £60 in the uk
