Leave Louie's drumming skills alone!

Absolutely. I agree with alot of what is said in this post, and he is a good drummer. I've always liked his playing in the early days, and whoever said everyone is at different levels of playing is correct. Not everyone can be a Dave Lombardo, or a Raymond Herrera! And just because they're not, does not mean they are a crap drummer ! Alot of the people on the internet that critisize Louie so harshly can only dream of accomplishing what Louie has in so far as touring the world, playing monster size gigs, and recording classic records that will be played for years to come. I'd like to see these harsh critics pick up some drum sticks and try to play all the stuff Louie has written over the years, and play it to perfection, or even better, let's hear what you can play, and what you've accomplished musically! People who critisize him should seriously STFU and enjoy music for what it was meant to be for. All you armchair quarterbacks that hide behind the computer and talk shit about musicians for "sucking" or whatever are just miserable fucks. Go back to downloading porn in your parents house
I agree with you 100%, HL. One of the better posts in this subject.

Well said, HiddenLegions! :D

That's why I began this topic in the first place...I got tired of reading people disrespectiing him. He deserves credit for returning after so many years! I'm not surprised he did well on the tour...a true musician never forgets his craft.

I never had a problem with Louie or his skills. I've been around long enopugh to have been able to see them back in the day many times, and for this I am thankful. I could go either way on his permanent return to the fold. It's true there are better drummers, but Louie is NOT a bad drummer. I'm all about original lineups.

mate, I'm dling porn in my parents house... I do! hehe hehe

but to be serious: I agree with you all... Louie deserves respect!

IMO, Louie has no skils like Lombardo, but TestAmenT wouldn't be the same, if the drummer would be different........ oh, and maybe there wouldn't be TestAmenT at all...

He did a great job on Sunday night, played the whole set, not sure if he's been doing that because I heard he was only playing select songs each night. And it wouldn't have been the same without him, remember Alex isn't a metal guitarist, but that doesn't seem to bother anyone. :Smug:

Testament is still guitar oriented and should stay that way. http://

hmmm .. i wouldn't say The Gathering is a bad album :Spin: and it definitely is a one LP-long drumm solo which gives Eric's riffs and Chuck's vocals yet another dimension.:worship:

finally got some time to review the allentown show. louies drumming was perfect. he was the most supprising of all. drumming is not something you just go out and do after years of not playing. hail to you louie. you kicked some ass. good to see you back.

Respect for Louie.

I've seen the little video of "Practice" from this reunion tour and it sounds exactly the same as 1992.
They got some heavy chemistry.

Where did you see that dude?

I believe it was somewhere on Blabbermouth- but the quality of the video was really low and it was from the show in Paris, where the sound wasn't good either (from what I've heard)- so it's not the best video... but I'm speaking from the position of someone who actually saw them on the Reunion tour more than once- people that didn't get to see them may like it more, although it doesn't really show how great they play together.

It's funny someone mentioned Lars. I used to like him a lot, now that I know what drumming is all about, Lars is never mentioned when serious bashing out is discussed. His live performances are sad.

Oh, btw, Luie is cool.
