Hey guys, working on a rough mix for a generic metal band down here and I would love some feedback/tips/hatemail, what have you. Other than the obvious sloppy playing im looking for comments on the mix please.

Guitars were a cheap Ltd through an od808> 6505+> Mesa oversized 4x12> sm57> presonus eureka> Digi003r

Drums were real replaced with Slate samples

Bass was Fender P-bass with emg's into the presonus then 003

Vox were at3035

lol, seriously. The band wanted him to do a certain rhythm and he couldn't figure out how to make his lyrics fit the rhythm for that part so finally i just said "dude, no one has a clue what you're saying any way just go make noises or something."


Any thoughts on the mix?

I think the toms and cymbals are a bit too dry, but I more like more wet sound in general, but that this kind of extreme metal pretty much can't handle simply bacause of the speed makes it incoherent mush. But maybe just a one tiny little thin slice of mint?
