hey all,

my friend successfully downloaded 1000's of songs from limewire pro - but then said his computer was infected with 100's of viruses.

is limewire a conduit for viruses?

if so, then which p2p is safer?

thanks.

ps. any other bands like :
1. vital remains
2. susperia
3. dissection
4. kataklysm
5. bolt thrower?

Limewire is a peer-to-peer program created for Mac, it's obvious that if you don't scan the dowloaded files you can be infected by viruses, you are downloading mostly from Mac users, and we don't give a damn about your virus problems! :D

Macs don't get infected by virus... I can download all the shitty virus that I want and my mac won't give a damn about it...

Limewire is infested with spyware. Not sure about what's on pro but everyone I know that uses Limewire HAVE had a virus at some point.

a good way to download music for you noobs:

let's say you are searching for the album HAtebreeder by Children of Bodom
go to google and search : "hatebreeder.rar", with or without the " "
sometimes you need to search during some time but you will find a link to megaupload or rapidshare or something similar to download the full album :D

Some music blogs where you can download albums too:

This is a forum: http://metalarea.org/index.php?showforum=11
another forum: http://www.teenspot.com/boards/showthread.html?t=325453&page=3

or you can download Emule, and use a website like this one http://www.figator.com/ to find some full albums too

Have fun :D

If you don't want viruses, do what I do: USE LINUX!!

But yeah, MacOSX is a completely different operating system from Windows. It's not a matter of virus protection, it's a matter of whether that virus is bad for you or not. It's like how a disease may affect humans, but not animals. (Yes, I just compared Macs with animals.)
