I was happy with my UX2 until I noticed something very strange.
The right output seemed to be louder than the left one.
I couldn't believe it until I recorded the analog outs into the line ins:

Could someone with a UX2 test if he gets similar results with his interface?

yea I had to use an UX1 in a session and it had the exact same problem. I noticed when I turned down the volume almost all way down it seemed like only one speaker was playing...

Is there something that you have done in Pod Farm to alter the output? I know that I have had issues with inputs and then fired up Pod Farm (only out of necessety of course) and notice that on the mixer section I had changed something, maybe there is something changed in the preferences? have you asked the question in the Line6 forum? have you altered something in your OS's audio preferences?

Thanks for your answers :)

That happens to me too...

I didn't alter anything in the podfarm mixer and had the problem from the beginning. At least I think so.. I noticed it after one day.
No, I didn't ask in the Line6 forum, but I'll do that tomorrow.

What is the signal you are putting into the UX2? I presume that we are looking at the wave form of a clean guitar, just that you have recorded it in stereo? Is the difference audiable too as well as being visual?

I have not noticed this myself yet but I record most things in mono as a rule.

Have you just started using your UX2?

the recorded signal was a song at commercial loudness level. Of course the difference is audible, thats why i even did this test. Oh and I should mention that I tested 3 different volumes (output at noon, quarter and almost 0). Could you do the same test with your ux2? That'd be kind :) Just drag a song into your daw, connect the outs to the ins and record 1 track with the left and 1 with the right input. Also make sure the track is soloed

I had this problem just when the volume was around 0-3 so I just lowered the monitors own volume.
Playing back music with the volume at half didn't seem to have one side lower.
Or maybe my ears/listening position are fucked

Right now I just use it as a dongle for podfarm though.

Ok, I did the test as you explained it and there was no difference in peaks from left to right on my UX2, that's providing I did the test right.

Could it be that the track that you used is peaking on one side louder than the other? Perhaps there's a massive floor tom hit?

Only further tests i can suggest to you is to repeat your test with a sine wave/test tone, then there is no creative discrepency between L & R channels.

Thanks for your help I really appreciate that :)
But I think you misunderstood something here:
I heard the difference between l/r and did the test after that to confirm what I was hearing.
If this problem doesn't appear on all ux2s (as your test confirms) it means mine is either defect or set up wrong.
Anyway.. I'll head over to the Line6 forum. If they can't provide a solution I'll have to send it back..

It's cool fella, hope you get to the bottom of it, you must have good ears by the way!!

I've used a UX1 previously and always noticed that the right channel was always a little louder and always sounded better than the left. Figured I was just imagining it.

I noticed this once on the POD X3 i think, but then I flipped the headphones and noticed it was the same.. so I have a hint of better hearing on the other ear :p

Hail the line6 customer service!
After about 6 Mails of declaring me for dumb, the guy came to the result that this problem must be due to the signal loss of my analog cables..
