is that Bogner I see on a line6 ???:hypno:

first off....you dont know what Bogner is? And secondly, ball sack is being used as an adjective to describe an amp's tone as if it all the sudden received a shot of testosterone, growling, and is kicking ass until it gets old and gets prostate cancer.

k, guess powertubes do help, but still the distortion (and that's what we really need) is "modeled" insted of generated by a preamp-tube-circuit....(although there are 2 ecc83 in there)

so it might have tubesticles but no agile sperm....

can't I just hate it no matter how it's gonna sound? ;)

i'm looking forward to trying it out when they're available

i've heard they'll offer a 100w head in the sub 1k range, if that's true and the thing actually sounds decent i'll probably pick one up as soon as they hit the used market...it would make a nice backup/recording tool

It's ridiculous that you guys are already making conclusions and assumptions about this amp, since it's not even available for testing yet.

Wait for it to come out, try it out, and then run your mouth.

NO!
predjudices are fun! ;)

and it's still is an amp that tries to sound like some other amps..
so at the end of the day it will STILL be the imitation of an amp...

can't be as good as the real deal....might be good, but never perfect and every producer should be a perfectionist...

the thing is :
If line6 starts making tube amps is like saying we have lost this fight.
I really admire what they do with digital stuff, I want them to make some new modelling that is close to the original, that is the future, tubes are obsolete.
I really hope for an amp that can give that tube compression so smooth and that good sag typical of tube amps.

i really hope for a honda civic that drives like a porsche

All I know is, I'm very happy with my Line 6 gear, especially my HD147. I think most of the prejudice against them is based on their speaker simulation, which could be a lot better. I don't use it anymore...

As for going with tubes for a new high end amp, cool, and Bogner is a great company to partner with. I'm very excited to hear the new amp. I don't think that tubes are necessary anymore to get great tone, though.

OT: Shane, do you mind tell me what impulse are you using with your Line6 stuff?

I don't actually. Live I play through a Line 6 HD147 into a Vetta 4x12 cab, with speaker simulation turned off. Sounds much better without it.

In studio lately, I'm using Amplitube 2 software. Our album "Dark Fiber," though, is Peavey 6505+ through a real miked Mesa 4x12.

I'm really liking amp simulation more and more...
