List these comedians in order of funny

Yeah, fair enough. Though, I have to share this Hicks quote cause I love it. When asked about Dennis Leary supposedly stealing his act:

"Actually, I stole his act. I just camoflagued it with punchlines. And then, to REALLY throw people off, I did it first."
That is BEYOND awesome.

Carlin is awesome. I saw him live a while ago.Very awesome. I also love Bill Hicks. The man was brilliant. I thought I liked Leary a lot more than I do. I just watched some stuff on youtube and i did not enjoy it as much as I remember enjoying it in the past. Perhaps i will watch some more later.

This woman at work swears by Patton Oswalt. Apparently he was on some sitcom. She claims he's rude and offensive...loves his shit. I listened to the album yesterday and, aside from a couple of funny lines, the guy was boring as hell.

Dane Cooks first cd is pretty fucking funny because I heard it right as it came out, but hearing his second cd and all his appearances, I don't find him funny at all. His delivery just pisses me off.

The Dane Cook Theory Of Funniness = The louder and more obnoxious the delivery, the funnier it is.

I would rather listen to Mitch Hedberg and Steven Lynch. Not my favorites by any means (those would be George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, and Robin Williams), but better than Dane Cook.

Cook is nothing but a thief but your theory of Dane Cooks' funniness also applies to Robin Williams.

the thing about bill hicks is that he's a complete badass and has a lot of really spot-on, poignant and intelligent observations that i pretty much always totally agree with, but...he doesn't always make me laugh, even though i'm always nodding my head going "hey, that's a good fuckin point!" :loco:
mitch hedberg on the other hand is completely silly and all his material depends utterly on his goofball delivery but he makes me laugh every time.

bill hicks is still pretty much awesome

There's a difference between effective and direct enthusiasm and kitschy "energetic" delivery.
