Listenable Records (Gojira's label)

hmmm that Amaran track is very good. I listened to Karma in Flesh some years ago... it wasn't bad... but THIS is much better!

I have the latest Amaran. I actually got it after hearing that track. Just so you know, that's the only track with the male vocals. The female vocalist is great, though. I have a feeling their next album could be pretty big. They sound like I wish Lacuna Coil sounded. Amaran's female vocals are somewhere between The Gathering and Lacuna Coil, I think.

I could probably upload a WMA or two if you wanted.

the thing is, I think their female vocalist left the band. You know they had a board here on UM right? Go check it out.

If she's gone, I'm not getting any more of their stuff.
You won't be able to get more of their stuff:

From the Amaran Website:

December 28, 2005 Dear all,

This year comes to an end and we are sad to say that Amaran does the same.
Since Johanna left us in July we have really been struggling looking for a replacement.
We have tried by contacts, friends, ads, headhunting, hostile kidnapping and threat without any success.
Our bad luck always seems to keep up with us.
This issue has simply unplugged our tub of motivation, and we all decided to put Amaran six feet under.
We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in any way with us during these Amaran years. As a final word, we suggest you to keep your eyes open during the forthcoming year. A new year seems to be a good time to start up something new...

A final farewell from Amaran

That sucks. Amaran was good stuff.

Theory in Practice is another good one on Listenable (although the band is on hiatus for going on 3 years). But whoever runs that label is a dumbass; he dropped Symbyosis before they finished the new one because he didn't think they'd be marketable. They're way more marketable than 90% of their roster.

i like the Listenable roster ... but there are definetelly some issues there as far as distribution ... they missed a pretty big window with the new Gojira not being available in the US with the obvious buzz the band has.

We used to get Listenable promos and almost every one got a poor review. That was a while back though I suppose.

And then came Gojira....I cannot believe it's a sold out hard-to-find item already. They obviously didn't prepare for such a huge "hit".

Damn, I liked both of Amaran's albums, as Nate said a good alternative to the beauty and the beast shit (except the linked song, ironically enough.) I don't think Listenable is anything special, though they do have Gojira, Textures, and Theory In Practice going for them...
