Live After Death or A Real Live Dead Ones?

So Maiden is about to release yet another live recording, and the debate it has caused between fans is already huge - and it's not even released!

What's your opinion on the 2 previous live efforts?
Live After Death vs A Real Live Dead One.

Remember that one is a quality polished live album, while the other has all the inconsistencies of a cheap bootleg (and that’s not just an opinion! ).

The crowd does sound great on Fear Of The Dark from a Real Live One.
But the rest of the album?

So it appears Live After Death is our favourite, yes?
Then why the complaints about possible over-dubs on Rock In Rio?

Overdub it, turn up the crowd, turn DOWN the crowd, whatever, as long as it sounds GOOD! You want them completely live and untampered with? Theres like a million bootlegs out there!

I find it amazing that people would question this band's integrity and indeed go as far as accuse someone of being a liar. Supposed fans like that we don't want, as far as I'm concerned we're better off without people like that. If you don't like what I've done with the album, don't buy it. Simple!

Live after Death.....fucking awesome! ...and i was there(okay maybe not at Long Beach or Hammersmith!)..but i did see the show at the Hordern Pavillion in 1985(4 months after i started listening to Iron Miaden!)

Still remains in my top 25 concerts ever!!!!!

(along with 1st Metalica concert..1989 at the Hordern,Black Crowes at the Hordern,16 AC/DC concerts,Pink Floyd 1988,Deep Purple 1984,1999 twice,2001 twice)

by the way,i have never heard real live one/real dead one.....i wouldn't even think about buying anything after LIVE AFTER DEATH...............

I'm sure there is at least one misguided fool out there. After all they did get to #'s 2 and 3 on the British charts when they were released. (Which could explain why the popularity of metal in general plummeted after '93..)

ok, "A Real Live/Dead One" is a piece of shit, and "Live After Death" is one of the greatest live albums ever, but you are all forgeting "Live at Donington"! I really like this one. It's not near as good as LAD, but shits all over ARL/DO!
