Anyone know if there is likely to be a live cd at somepoint in the nearish future?
Fairly uncommon for a band to do 8 studio releases without a live one popping up.
Just got Lamentations and in the process of listening to it, unfortunately my tv is shit, need a better one.
Bands like Rush have, probabily too many such cd's.
I have searched the forum, but cant see any reference to this:u-huh:

If/when one is done, would it be better for a whole concert or a mixture of venues to give a better mix of material. If so, what should be on it?
Don't know if good quality recordings have been made in the past.

Well you can do what I did with my copy of Lamentations - I correctly split the chapters into mp3's... so now I have Lamentations - the live album for my iPod :)

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple. DVD's have audio and video stored in different files, and these are both divided into chapters.

The audio is not compressed like it is in MP3 files for example.

This is the program I use to extact the audio from the DVD. It's pretty simple to use (feel free to PM me if you have any problems).

Make sure you have a good amount of free hard drvie space (it needs a lot to process the conversion into MP3s), and you're set to go.

In under an hour it's done, then you can throw your MP3s into iTunes or winamp, add your info from ID3 tags and you're off enjoying your new live album before you know it :)

on topic! i read an interview with peter on themoor.net and he says theyre set to do one in the near future. you might wanna read the actual interview and as i cant be bothered finding the link you might wanna search for the topic or just go to the moor site.:)

I recon the sound has to be at least a little different. I recollect on this forum it being stated that some of the equipment or sound being different live.
Different feel anyway, as far as my first listen to lamentations goes.

Definitely. They use the Laney's live, but they've recorded with Mesas at times. Two VERY different sounding amps. And having the witty banter from Mike would always be a plus on a live disc. Hopefully they don't cut any of that out.

actually, i heard that what you're hearing on the lamentations dvd isn't coming from the amps that you are seeing the dvd. on the harmony-central forums, i heard that they recorded the guitar signal directly from the gt-6, and later ran it through a modded jcm-800. someone said that they heard that from a source that was in direct or indirect contact with andy sneap...or whoever mixed it...i think it was him.
