Lln.....

Agreed. I've been realy enjoying this demo. I hear there's a full length coming out next year, which should be bloody good, if the demo is anything to go by.

Yeah Mutiilation is quite possibly the most genuinly dark and violent black metal I've ever heard. Their first two albums are brillant, with Remains... being one of the best black metal albums I've ever heard. For their newer works, Black Mellinium isn't that impressive, but Majestas Leprosus was a very solid album, though nowhere near their original works.

Vlad Tepes is wierd. Their sound is strange, almost goofy, but not intentionally so. It's strange but enjoyable...

Acoustic break in Through The Funeral Maelstrom Of Evil = extremely depressing and beautiful.

Just started a thread on them at a different forum not too long ago, glad to know I'm not the only one who was left in the dark when it came to Les Legion Noires and, at least in my case, about French Black Metal in general.

There's nothing TO know about black legions.

French Black Metal is very minimal but brilliantly composed.

I don't care very much for Vlad Tepes and I basically agree with what GE said about them. However, Mutiilation is a completely different beast. The rock n roll riffing is absent and the vocals surely don't make me think he's falling asleep. The vocals could peel the paint off your walls. They're not violent in the sense that a blast-laden band like Antaeus is, but they're far from mellow.

Now, Antaeus, there is a killer band. Very brutal, violent, and cutting ( I guess is as good a word as any?). And, the vocals are absolutely top notch.

Sic.

I also agree about Vlad Tepes. Horrendously average. I reviewed them here- http://www.metal-archives.com/review.php?id=2581

Mutiilation IS excellent, but only the first two albums. Their post-faked-suicide shit has been awful.
