If this is in the wrong place I apologize, I've only posted like twice on this site.
I am looking for this type of snare, not sure what kind it is, I am not a drummer, and I trigger drums for my band here.
Here is an example of what I'm looking for.

EX1:

EX2:

It's that very fat snare.. very reverby..
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!
Once again, sorry if I posted this in the wrong place

the trick for snares like that is blending multiple samples, even ones that by themselves you would think that they would sound like shit, for example the fat city snare.

Seems like a good idea... I'll try that. I have a truth drum snare sample I got from Sturgis that I've managed to get somewhat close to the sound with a shit ton of parallel compression and what not.. It's just not close enough..

That Sturgis snare is really fucking awesome imo... but it's just not what you're looking for, not at all!
I'd take a look on Slate snares. I think with 2/3 of them + the real snare :), you could get what you want.

Thanks man! I love the Sturgis snare haha it's great! But yeah not what I'm looking for.. Any links for some slate snares? I'll do some research as well..

The FFAK snare was superior drummer metal foundry. It was mixed by Cameron from Chango Studios so it may be blended with his own samples which you can purchase off the Chango website

No the FFAK is not Superior...he only uses Superior for their cymbals these days. It's just a blend of different Slate snares, no real ones. I can promise you that considering I did my last record with him and gave him Slate and helped engineer to replace his crappy superior drum and guitar tones.
